The Company

Integer IT is a Managed Service Provider focussed on supporting businesses in the Mid North Coast, NSW from our Helpdesk based in Port Macquarie. Integer specialise in supporting and protecting our client’s IT environments utilising the latest technology and remote monitoring tools.

The Brief

The business had invested in a new IT infrastructure technology platform and Helpdesk software tools to enhance the IT service offering to an expanding workforce and client base.

An office move from the CBD in Port Macquarie to bigger premises in the Industrial area in Lake Road created the perfect scenario to retire the existing ADSL/2 data circuit and old phone system which had poor audio quality and limited phone functionality.

Our Approach

After a review of the availability of services at the new office location Integer opted for a 20/5mbps NBN connection to establish an initial data service, which was then upgraded to 100/40mbps with a business continuity option in the event of the circuit going off line. A separate data circuit was provisioned dedicated to voice only traffic with 5 x SIP channels for unlimited voice calls to local, national and mobiles.

An Ericson-LG (IPECS) VOIP UCS100 phone system was selected and installed with feature rich phone options for handling incoming and outgoing voice calls. A new 24 Port POE switch was dedicated to voice traffic, separating the internal network into 3 distinct VLAN’s- voice, data and Test and Development.

The Benefits

Integer IT have created an expandable unified communications environment with fixed data circuit and telephony costs. All extensions can forward voice and messages as audio files on email and out to mobiles, call recording for quality control purposes is built in whilst creating the ability to hot desk with single sign on.

The system is provided with a web management tool to easily alter, add and change extensions. Dedicating a line purely for voice traffic has created a considerable improvement on the quality of the voice conversation with clients as voice traffic no longer contends with data packets on the same data circuit.
